4. ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
Akropolis is non-profit organization in Uherske Hradiste devoted to education, families and volunteering. Akropolis is dedicated to social help with families, children and young people. It focuses on leisure activities, public awareness, education, advice and prevention programmes, as well as developing social skills, art workshop, programs in multisensory room ( Snoezelen), and many others activities.
5. AIMS DESCRIPTION:
- to serve a free time activity centre
- to support mothers and fathers on perental leave in their self-fulfillment, life-long learing and balancing their professional and family lives
- to offer a variety of opportunities for adults, children, the youthz and whole families to spend their spare time in a way they find enriching
- to prevent social exclusion and decline of professional skills of parents on long-term parental leave
- to prevent the occurence of socially pathological behavior in children and the youth
- to spread and advance the idea of the role of family in society
- support informal education and the concept of volunteering
6. ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:
Activities for children together with parents:
– psychomotor exercises, singing, snoezelen activities and creative activities. This type of activities are realized one day per week each one. There are 4 groups (6 month to 1 year; 1 to 1,5; 1,5 until 2; and last 2 to 3)
– educational events and weekend workshops . One Saturday per month there is one special activity for families with children: musical activities, theatre, arts, traditional handicraft, canistherapy…
Activities for children (1,5 to 3)
There is a Miniskolka that means kindergarden. It takes from Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm. This activity is developed by profesionals.
Activities for children (4 to 14)
There are activities after school for this range of age as: aerobic, street dance, art class, language class (english, german), music class, drama therapy,
Activities for youth
Rock School is the name for the experimental music project in the family , educational and volunteer center Akropolis os in the town of. The main objective of the project is to bring together musicians with a focus on rock or similarly themed music ( Blues , Soul , Funk, … ) especially among the youth and create a musical group that would reproduce the classic rock songs , or engaged in their work. The project is aimed at the informal meeting of youth and adults , musical communication and teamwork.
Activities for adults
- sports activities in the afternooon: aerobics, yoga, zumba, bally dance, pilates, fitbox, callanetics…
- Dance courses, Weight Watchers club, Reiki, family constellation…
- language lessons and conversation exchange (English, Spanish, German, Russian)
- art classes: art therapy, right brain hemisphere painting, oil painting, encaustic…
- educational programme: child-rearing and preparation for parenthood (to teach parents diferent educational skills), pre-school preparation…
- activities about gender isssues to look for the balance between family and work.
- activities to help to find a job: digital alfabaetizacion, graphical dessign COREL, communication courses…
Activities of snoezelen:
There a lot of types of multisensory activities for individuals and groups. People with disabilities – health, learning and behavior disorders ADHD, ADD, Autism, Asperger syndrom, communication problems in the family, parent-child relationship. 7. EXPERIENCES IN EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK:
GRUNDTVIG:
- GET. It was a Grundtvig project from 2010 to 2012. Czech Republi, Italy, Island, France and Germany and Belgium were involved in to get a cross-cultural and pan European dialogue with gender issues in their countries and in Europe from theoretical as well as practical point of view. They introduce achievements of most recent international theories, compare contacts, models and practices of implementation in a historical and intercultural perspective. Thereby they make use of a «bottom up» description and analysis of gender stereotypes based on the stories, experiences and voices of women and men themselves.
LEONARDO:
Last years Akropolis has taken part in diferent projects about worker’s mobility inside Leonardo programme.
