4. ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
Maternity and family centre Krucek Svitavy, o.s. is an educational community and multigenerational centre for families with small children. Every day we offer pleasant and friendly environment with wide variety of activities and services for the families with children – from exercise for pregnant women, through baby clubs for mothers with babies, art activities, musical and moving classes for toddlers and English lessons for pre-school children to educational courses for parents and big actions for public. The maternity centre is a good place for meeting of families with children.
It offers services and activities, whose goal is to support healthy, active and working families as well as prevention of the social outcast of families with children (from birth to pre-school age). Services and activities allow families to spend free time meaningfully, prevent their social isolation and strengthen the family role in the society.
Children (mostly between 0 and 5 years, but also their older siblings) can find new friends in the maternity and family centre Krucek, improve their emotional and social intelligence and learn many new abilities, which help in their future adaptation in nurseryschools (3-6 yearsold) and primaryschools (around 6 yearsold). The maternity centre Krucek also helps the children and their parents to spend the time from baby to pre-school age more meaningfully and gives more joy to this time.
The maternity and familly centre Krucek also runs the babysitting centre BabyKrucek which is intended for children through ages 1-3 years, whose parents need to go to work and have no other possibility where they can put their children. This centre is located near the centre of the town.
It is a small centre for maximum 10 children and is open every weekday (Monday-Friday) from 7:00-17:00. The number of workers depends on the number and age of children but there are about 6 “aunts“ who take turns.
5. AIMS DESCRIPTION:
The goal of Maternity and family centre Krucekis to help prevent social outcast and isolation of mothers and families with small children, prepare pregnant women for their role as a mother, pass on knowledge about raising children and psychology of family life and to support the bringing up of responsible manhood.
6. ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:
Our main activities can be separated to several areas:
- Regular activities during whole week – playroom, various short activities (creative, musician, exercise, language activities) – 5 days in a week (about 10 families)
- Irregular actions for families, actions during the holiday and weekends – 1-2 times in a month (50-100 people)
- Education of mothers and parents (6-20 people)
- Other activities – mainly psychological, lactation, pregnant, business consulting (individually or in small groups), summer camps, harmonizing private and working life etc…
- Babisitting
7. EXPERIENCES IN EUROPEAN FRAMEWORK:
Youth in action – action2, Acreditation for European voluntary service since 2009. We hosted 9 volunteers, each for 1 year. In next photos appears our volunteers 2013/2014 – Zoraida (Spanish) and Olga (Russian)
